Marmite, or how to spread yourself NOT thinly!

March 26, 2018

I hadn't planned this post, but in almost meditative fixation of the Marmite jar it ignited a thought. You might not be familiar with this vegetable spread or you either love or hate the taste. Never mind, I am a lover and it gave me the following reflection....

In most of us sits a constant seeking of approval by others. We worry, if we are being liked. We worry, if we get everything done. We worry for the future. We worry what people say about us. We consistently check our devices for approval. (How many Likes or Hearts did I receive?) Consequently, we are spreading ourselves thinly trying to be the Jack of all trades to everybody instead of looking inside and serving what matters to us, where we are at peace with ourselves. If you are lucky you have a handful of people around you that really count. Others will only ridicule your dreams or their dysfunctional judgement intends to break you. Leave the drama behind, kick the drama out of your thoughts. The world will never be perfect. Fleeing into a world of distraction, of artificial likes isn’t living, that’s existing. My invitation to you is to go into uncertainty and into the unknown as that is the space of all possibility.

I LOVE my porridge with Marmite
